CAD 1 - Introductory level class offering lessons in methods of drafting as a universal language tool to express thoughts and convey ideas via sketches and technical drawing. The basics of manual & computer aided drafting are taught alongside 2 dimensional and isometric drawing, 3-view orthographic projection, sectional, and revolved views using descriptive geometry.

Design 1 - An introductory level class teaching lessons in the fundamental elements of design and design processes. Ergonomics in relation to standardization and social impact is studied as a means to design objects and places that appropriately reflect the individual users and the unique environmental characteristics they will experience. Prerequisite - Drafting 1

Design 2 - An intermediate class about design and its application to a variety of places and products in the built environment. Material selection as influenced by sustainabiilty and methods of manufacturing and application processes are introduced alongside exploratory studies in aesthetic composition and scale and pattern configurations. Prerequisite - Design 1

Design 3 - An exploratory class encompassing a variety of design and engineering fields and understanding their relationship to each other. Technical vocabulary is studied and implemented in oral and graphic presentations of student chosen design projects. A graphic portfolio is produced as a culminating artifact of student work. Prerequisite - Design 2
